Pilots of FedEx Raise $150k for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

The Pilots of FedEx have set another record for fundraising! The Factory Five donation car they built raised a winning bid of $150,000 at last night’s St. Jude Memphis JAM Gala Auction. The car debuted a few months ago at the FedEx display at the Midsouth Airshow in Memphis, alongside the Blue Angels display. This year will be our eighth year and eighth kit donated. All money goes to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The winner asked to have all the St. Jude patients in attendance sign the inside of the hood, and all 10 did so. On behalf of everyone at Factory Five Racing and the kids at St. Jude, congratulations to Mike Bray, his team of FedEx Pilot builders, and also pro builder Ron Everett who donated time for this great cause.

The FedEx pilots that were on this year’s team are as follows: CAPT (MD-10/11) Mike “Popeye” Bray, CAPT (MD-10/11) Shon “Buzzard” Driscoll, CAPT (B-767), John “Ocean” Beach, CAPT (B-757) Eric “Stretch” Armstrong, FO (MD-10/11) Kyle “Smiles” Jensen. Sponsors included our Factory Five car, FedEx, Landers Ford, AutoZone, PPG, BluePrint, Reliable Carriers, Baker Pond Hot Rods, Koni, Moser, Wilwood, and Fedex Master Executive Council. Huge thank you to all involved and sponsors. Mike Bray told us this year was the “smoothest build to date of the nine this program has produced.
