Syracuse Nationals Recap & Unload with Us!

The Factory Five team had a fantastic time at the 2025 Syracuse Nationals July 18-20th! We arrived the night before to set up, and spent the entire weekend connecting with car enthusiasts.

Factory Five Booth Highlights
Our booth attracted people of all ages because it was interactive. Many visitors sat in the rolling Mk5 chassis and Hot Rod Truck to check out interior fit. The 20th Anniversary blue Roadster and the rolling Mk5 chassis were crowd favorites, followed by the red ’35 Hot Rod Truck and our Speedstar.

The most common question we received was, “What’s included in the $22,000 kit?”

Blueprint Engines was just a few booths away, and their rep James visited our display throughout the show as well.

Factory Five customer, George stopped by Friday with his finished Hot Rod, which was a hit as well! We invited him into our booth for the weekend, and it was an even greater time with George and his ’33 Hot Rod. Check out the video we put together from Day 1!

The Show Experience
Friday and Saturday had great weather, big crowds, and strong interest in our kits.
Sunday was rainy and overcast, so we packed up early.

In the evening, we cruised the fairgrounds in our cars to keep the energy up and showcase the builds. Customers and show-goes have reached out since saying they saw us driving around in the red ’35 Hot Rod Truck!

The show featured thousands of hot rods and muscle cars, with few modern or exotic vehicles, as most car entries had to be pre-2000.

Our Crew
Nick from tech support, Justin from welding, and Owen from engineering represented the team. Justin is a passionate hot rodder at his core and had great conversations with fellow Hot Rod builders.

The team estimated more than 10 kit sales, 30 prospects, and over 120 general leads from the weekend. Now that’s on spreading the word about Factory Five!

It was a successful show with strong turnout and enthusiasm for Factory Five. We’re already looking forward to attending again next year!

Unloading the Trailer After the Show
After the show was over and the crew was back at work, we decided to unload the trailer and move ALL the Factory Five cars around!

It felt good to get the team behind the wheel of different Factory Fives from the 20th Anniversary Mk4 Roadster to the Gen 1 Hot Rod Truck and 818 for example!

Check out this fun video we put together while rearranging the layout of our showroom and getting some of our cars into the race shop for some regular maintenance.

Mark S. Graduates His Mk4 & Scores Magazine Cover!

Congratulations to customer Mark S. on graduating his Mk4 Roadster build! Mark came for a tour of Factory Five in March 2020 to meet Dave Smith and the team. After returning home to the United Kingdom, Mark ordered his Mk4, and it arrived at his garage in February 2021.  Marks good friend, neighbor, and fellow car enthusiast, Stuart H, helpedwith the build which featured a Gen 3 5.0L Coyote, Tremec TKO transmission, 8.8″ solid axle with 3-link rear suspension, 18″ Halibrand wheels, and of course, it had to be in right hand drive. Mark also had the chassis galvanised to…

Factory Five is Closed Today, Monday January 26, 2026.

I made the call to scrub FFR operations for the day. The drive in wasn’t bad, and most roads are clear. Unfortunately our plow crew was late, and the day dawned with 3-4′ drifts in the back parking lot! We will be at work and at full strength tomorrow. Sorry for any difficulties this may cause. Three Generations Embark on a Type 65 Coupe Dream Build

Dave Ryan’s Type 65 Coupe build is moving right along—and it’s become something even bigger along the way. In collaboration with Factory Five Racing, V6 Media is producing a short film documenting the build process. Recently, Dave’s father, Vaun Ryan, sat down to share his lifelong passion for performance cars and motorcycles—sparked as a young boy on the family farm in Utah, building a homemade go-kart powered by a hay-elevator motor. That curiosity for how things work turned into a lifetime of mechanical enthusiasm, passed down through generations and now culminating in Dave’s Type 65 Coupe build, which is a…
