Peter D. Graduates Mk5 Build for Son Scott’s Wedding
Factory Five customer Peter D. from Pfafftown, NC and his son Scott started to put their Mk5 Roadster plans together early in Fall 2025. They submitted their order in mid-October 2025 with the kit arriving in mid-December. They soon started to inventory the kit and start building the car as they had a goal of having the Mk5 featured at Scott’s wedding in June 2026.

“I am a retired healthcare administrator, and Scott is a project manager for a transportation company,” wrote Peter on The Factory Five Forum. “We are both very mechanically minded. I bought my first car at 14 and entered it in a demolition derby. Then I bought a VW Bug, stripped it of body parts, and turned it into a mountain dune buggy. Scott rebuilt his Ford F350 6.0 engine and recently rebuilt a Jet ski engine. Before heading off to college, Scott raced motorcycles in the National Enduro series. We built a garage together and have done a lot of around-the-house handyman work. We both ride motorcycles and have done all the repair and maintenance work on them.”

Peter and Scott configured their Mk5 Roadster kit with a Blueprint Engines 427 EFI crate engine with a TKX 5-speed manual transmission, stainless steel side exhaust, IRS, power steering, Ultra-Lite gauges, black leather seats, powder coated frame, dual chrome roll bars, 17″ Halibrand wheels, leather steering wheel, remote brake booster, and over-riders.
“Well, the goal was to have the Mk5 Roadster ready for my son Scott’s wedding,” wrote Peter. “We made it!”

Congratulations Peter and Scott on graduating your Mk5 Roadster build! We’re so happy you two had fun building the car together, and it was able to part of Scott and Amanda’s wedding day.
