Factory Fives Take 1st & 2nd at Chicago World of Wheels!

Factory Five customers Jason H. and Pat S. were awarded 1st and 2nd Place at the World of Wheels Chicago event this year! Jason shared the news on the Cobra Owners of Illinois (COIL) Facebook group page saying, “Great day for the club!”

Jason was also presented another award in addition to earning 1st Place with his Mk4 Roadster. “So something crazy happened last night. I didn’t even go to the award ceremony because it’s really when you look around and think it’s not a competition with some of these other guys,” wrote Jason. “But last night they awarded me Outstanding Competition for the entire show!”

Jason built his Mk4 Roadster with a custom 347, TKX transmission, 8.8″ solid axle with 3-link rear suspension, driver and passenger chrome roll bars, power steering, 15″ Halibrand wheels. The paint is Randy Apple Red with Ford Pearl White stripes.

Patrick built his Mk4 Roadster with a 351W, power steering, 8.8″ solid axle with 3-link rear suspension, stainless steel side exhaust, diamond stitched door panels, driver and passenger chrome roll bars, and 17″ Halibrand Wheels.

It was a pleasure to host Mk4 Chris and Wendy D. from Navarre. FL at Factory Five this week! Chris built a Mk4 Roadster the other year, and was also featured in Coastal Lifestyle Magazine. Westley B. Graduates his Type 65 Coupe Build!

Congratulations to Factory Five customer Westley B. from Virginia on graduating his Gen 3 Type 65 Coupe build! Westley received his Coupe kit in late Summer 2024, and said it was a fun journey. Westley installed a Scott Shafiroff 427ci small block Ford in his Type 65 Coupe along with options like hydraulic clutch, IRS, power steering, GPS vintage gauges, low back race vintage race seats, powder coated frame, Wilwood brakes, wipers, A/C-heater, side windows, front and rear sway bars, floormats, seat track, and polished side view mirror. Donny N. Builds Two Factory Fives

In 2020, customer Donny N. from Georgia started his Factory Five Mk4 Roadster build with his wife and kids. 4 years and 3 months later, they started work on their next Factory Five project, a Type 65 Coupe! “My first build was a MK4 Roadster powered by a Coyote Gen 2 with a TKO600, IRS, and Wilwood brakes,” wrote Donny N. “This time, I built a Type 65 Coupe with a Gen 3 Coyote, T56 transmission, IRS, and Wilwood brakes.” Check out this reel of Donny’s two Factory Five builds with his family.
