Mk4 Customers Chris and Wendy D. Visit Factory Five

It was a pleasure to host Mk4 customer Chris and Wendy D. from Navarre. FL at Factory Five this week! Chris built a Mk4 Roadster the other year, and was also featured in Coastal Lifestyle Magazine. While on vacation in New England, they took the opportunity to visit Factory Five in Wareham to meet the team and tour the factory.

Dave Smith shows Chris some of the XTF renderings that Kyle is working on in the design studio.

“It was great to meet the FFR team! I had an amazing time. I’m still riding that high. I only wish I would’ve come up sooner. Dave Smith is awesome. Reminds me a lot of my dad and myself. I could’ve hung out and talked for hours. Thanks to everyone for an amazing experience.” – Chris Durbin

Chris gave Dave Smith a sticker for his garage that he named *Pop’s Garage* in honor of his dad who passed along his passion for cars and mechanical engineering onto Chris.

Chris built his Mk4 Roadster with a Gen 2 5.0L Coyote motor, a stock 6-speed transmission, and Moser 8.8 solid axle rear end with 3:55 gears. He gave his build some personal touches with a custom interior and the vibrant 2023 Ford colors. Read more about Chris’ build here.

Paul H. and his Mk4 Earn 2nd Place at Spokane Speed!

Customer Paul H. from Spokane, WA took home 2nd Place in the Handbuilt Sports Car Class at this year’s Spokane Speed and Custom Car Show! Paul purchased his Mk4 Roadster (chassis #9847) in June 2020, and built the car with his son after attending the Factory Five Build School at Mott Community College. They built the Mk4 with a 5.0 Coyote from a 2013 F150, Trememc 2650, IRS, 17″ Halibrand wheels, vinyl dash with glovebox, leather seats, and vintage gauges. Westley B. Graduates his Type 65 Coupe Build!

Congratulations to Factory Five customer Westley B. from Virginia on graduating his Gen 3 Type 65 Coupe build! Westley received his Coupe kit in late Summer 2024, and said it was a fun journey. Westley installed a Scott Shafiroff 427ci small block Ford in his Type 65 Coupe along with options like hydraulic clutch, IRS, power steering, GPS vintage gauges, low back race vintage race seats, powder coated frame, Wilwood brakes, wipers, A/C-heater, side windows, front and rear sway bars, floormats, seat track, and polished side view mirror.
