Ron L. Graduates His Type 65 Coupe Build!
Congratulations to customer Ron L. from Port St. Lucie, FL on completing his third Factory Five build – a Gen 3 Type 65 Coupe! Ron has previously built a Mk4 Roadster and a ’35 Hot Rod Truck. He took deliver of his Type 65 Coupe kit in October 2024, and posted on The Factory Five Forum this past August that he was ready to graduate his build.
Ron has driven over 600 miles with the Coupe as of August, and also brought it to the London Cobra Show for his shakedown rides.
Here’s the specs of Ron’s Coupe:
Engine: Blueprint LS3 with 540hp. Using Holley Terminator X Max Electronics.
Transmission: Tremec T-56 Magnum.
Rear: IRS with 3.55 gears.
Body: Electric Window Kit – from FormaCars. Pete Brock Side Mirrors.
Wheels/Tires: ForgeStar F14 Wheels 19×10 and 19×12. Yokohama 325/30-19 and 305/30-19.
Interior: Custom dashboard Ron made to replicate a C2 Corvette. Dakota Digital cluster. Sparco R100 seats. Auto-Vox mirror/camera. HVAC – from FormaCars.
Electrical Tweaks: Wireless pushbuttons on removeable steering wheel for Directionals and Horn. Puddle Lights say Daytona.
Brakes: Wilwood 14″ Front & Rear with Electric E-Brake – from Levy Racing.
Shocks/Springs: QA1 Double Adjustable – from Levy Racing.
Paint: Silver Flare Metallic (which he had on his C8 Corvette) with Mopar Bright White stripes. Ron did most of the bodywork and primers. His buddy Junior sprayed the colors & clear.
