Community Spotlight: Kevin G.’s Type 65 Coupe

Check out these incredible photos of Kevin G.’s stunning Factory Five Type 65 Coupe, captured by photographer Melissa J.! While out with her husband and Factory Five customer, Hunter, Melissa happened to have her camera and seized the moment to snap these shots. Kevin and Melissa were able to connect through a Factory Five social media page to share the photos.

It feels good to be part of such a talented and supportive community that shares the passion for these incredible builds!

Kevin’s car is a Gen 3 Type 65 Coupe purchased in 2018 and powered by a Blueprint 347 stroker. Dr. Todd K. built the car during the pandemic, and Kevin made some upgrades, including a hydraulic clutch kit and throttle assembly tweaks.

“It’s the kind of car you can drive anywhere, any day, with no problem. It gets so much attention and steals the spotlight at every show or cars-and-coffee event I take it to,” Kevin said.

Kevin’s Coupe has even been on the Power Tour this year! Kevin spotted our MotorTrend 75th Anniversary edition on the tour a few times too.

Donny N. Builds Two Factory Fives

In 2020, customer Donny N. from Georgia started his Factory Five Mk4 Roadster build with his wife and kids. 4 years and 3 months later, they started work on their next Factory Five project, a Type 65 Coupe! “My first build was a MK4 Roadster powered by a Coyote Gen 2 with a TKO600, IRS, and Wilwood brakes,” wrote Donny N. “This time, I built a Type 65 Coupe with a Gen 3 Coyote, T56 transmission, IRS, and Wilwood brakes.” Check out this reel of Donny’s two Factory Five builds with his family.
