Russell B. started his build in July 2023 with lots of help from friends, neighbors, and family; especially, his 4-year-old daughter, Pippa. Russell says, “She has her own little workbench in the garage and loves grabbing the same tools I’m using to “work” on the car. It’s been one of the most rewarding parts of the project.”
While Russell never built or worked on cars before, the FFR online forum and local builders have been a huge support system for him. He says, “They’ve made what seemed like an overwhelming task feel completely possible.”
The engine in their Mk4 Roadster is a 351W stroked to 427, paired with a Tremec TKX from Mike Forte. Final bodywork will be done by Spotlight Customs in Dahlonega, Georgia.

Russell says he “got the first (extremely hot, but totally worth it) evening cruise tonight. Pippa seems to understand now that this large collection of metal parts in the garage that she has so tirelessly worked on may serve a purpose soon.
Some things to work out before its road-ready but huge milestone I’m very proud of. All thanks and love go to my wife (@radio_tots) for encouraging me to push myself even when I wasn’t sure I could get this far. And to Factory Five Racing for making this so much fun.”
Russell’s goal is to have the car ready for the Dunwoody, GA Fourth of July Parade next year, which is “The biggest in the state! And in my humble opinion, the Corvette Club needs a little friendly competition.”
