Customer Ryan M.’s Gen 3 Type 65 Coupe
Customer Ryan M. from Texas sent us some pictures of his beautiful Factory Five Type 65 Coupe. We asked him more about his build and it turns out Ryan built much more than a Coupe in the last few years. We were in disbelief when Ryan told us the story behind his build, “In 2020, my house burned down. I only made it out with my wife and 4 kids, and whatever we were wearing —none of us even had shoes on. Needless to say, 2020 was a little hard on my family. Follow all that with spending most of Covid in a home that wasn’t ours! Our family and faith is what got us through.
The fire also destroyed the old C10 truck I spent four years building nut by bolt from the ground up. I bought my Factory Five Type 65 Coupe as replacement.
In November 2020, I received my Type 65 and built it in my spare time, eventually bringing it home in September 2023 and naming her Loretta. The car went on display at Summit Racing in July 2023.
Despite the hardships, we’re doing great. The experience also gave us empathy for those facing similar challenges. The car is a Gen 3 Coupe with a Gen 3 Coyote, Tremec 6 speed, IRS, and includes modifications like Kirkey racing seats and a dash signed currently being signed by Pete Brock. My kids were a small part of the build process. Not a big part, but they are very attached to the car and I’m pretty sure I will never be able to sell it now.
