Dave and Sheri H. Head Home with Their 30th Anniversary Mk5 Roadster

I stepped out of the AC into the New England heat to find a crew glistening with honest sweat, just as they were getting ready to hit the road back to Canada. One of them quipped with perfect timing: “The paparazzi shows up now that we’ve packed up in this heat!?” Cue the laughs!

Sheri and Dave H., all the way from North Bay, Ontario, picked up their 30th Anniversary Mk5 Roadster during the heat wave here this Tuesday morning. This isn’t their first Factory Five experience! Dave built a Mk4 Roadster back in 2012, so he’s no stranger to the process.

Between today’s heat wave and a few trailer hiccups, getting everything packed up and ready to roll was no small feat. But as they prepped to leave, the smiles spoke volumes.

As for their original Mk4? They’re deciding whether to hand it down to their mechanically-inclined son or put it up for sale. Big plans are already in motion for the Mk5: Dave’s going with a Gen 4 Coyote engine, and he and Sheri are still debating the final paint color. Right now, they’re leaning toward a sleek black chameleon finish, and they added: “If you have any recommendations, send them our way!”

Dave’s recently retired and eager to dive back into a build. We can’t wait to see what this Mk5 becomes!

Inspired by their story? While the Mk5 isn’t part of our current promotion, several of our most popular kits are. Right now, you can save up to $4,000 during our 30 Years of Legends Sale.

Sale ends July 4th. 🔗 factoryfive.com/whats-new/30-years-of-legends-sale
