This year’s Hot Rod Power Tour started out in Arlington, TX and we just got a quick video update from the road.
The weather has been generally sunny and VERY hot. So far the guys have had a blast with the roadsters and Hot Rods, swapping rides along each leg and leaving the type 65 Coupe on the trailer so far (did I say it was hot, like 90’s and the Daytona runs warm).
Factory Five customer Bill P. from North Carolina is a long hauler on the 2013 Hot Rod Power Tour! Here’s a couple of photos of his 4.6 DOHC ’33 Hot Rod at the Texarkana day two stop.
Bill’s Hot Rod has won a ton of car show awards and was a candidate for the 2011 SEMA Show. The car is seen regularly at Mid-Atlantic region Factory Five Racing events.
Just when you thought you knew everything about Factory Five customers, you get a surprise like this one. This is customer Ray Szoszorek’s 13th (!) consecutive Power Tour Long Hauler! He has over 95,000 miles on his Mk1 Roadster which he built in 1999. Ray is proof of the Factory Five formula that these cars can take a lot of punishment and street miles and still look great.
En route to Memphis, Nate Johnson and his wife Jen are driving Nate’s orange Mk3 and Factory Five’s Tony Zullo is driving our black ’33 street Hot Rod with his buddy Freddie.
Customer Chuck McCall drove his ’33 Hot Rod down from Michigan to Texas to START the 1,400 mile tour from Texas to North Carolina! Then he’s driving home! THAT is Factory Five! Chuck built a custom trailer to carry serious luggage.
The guys are in Memphis and will be heading to Birmingham, AL then on to Chatanooga, TN. On Friday, they will be at Charlotte Z-Max raceway for the final leg.
The Factory Five ’33 that is on this month’s Hot Rod Magazine will be joining the tour in Charlotte, NC and will be participating in the autocross event.
Update #2
Tony, Nate, and Freddie sent us a quick update after day 4 of this year’s Power Tour. Here’s a quick video update and some photos of a couple of the stops they made during the 160 mile cruise.
Tony and Freddie sent us another update on their way to Birmingham, AL. Here’s what they had to say:
A lot of Factory Five customers are attending the 2013 Hot Rod Power Tour. Tony just sent us this photo of FFR customer Rocco O. from Birmingham, AL with his Mk4 Roadster in the Factory Five booth. It’s powered by the Ford 5.0L Coyote with a Tremec TKO 600 and is painted Redline Red with Wimbledon white stripes.
The Hot Rod Power Tour is definitely one of those things that belongs on every car guys bucket list. More reports as we get them.
