New & Improved Type 65 Coupe

Designed Improved in 2nd Generation – UPDATED!

We’ve revised our Type 65 Coupe for the first time in 10 years. The changes we made are designed to make the car easier to build, perform better, and with higher quality parts.

Production begins shortly and we will be shipping the new version Coupe in March. Here is a summary of the changes.

Type 65 Coupe Upgrades

•All-new composite body with red gel coat

•New close-tolerance body molds with new panel molds

•New rear glass hatch and hinge standard

•Mk4 front suspension upgrades and round X-member

•New interchangeable 4-link/3-link rear suspension design

•Revised cockpit aluminum panels for better fit and easier assembly

•New chassis welding jig and component welding jigs

Paul H. and his Mk4 Earn 2nd Place at Spokane Speed!

Customer Paul H. from Spokane, WA took home 2nd Place in the Handbuilt Sports Car Class at this year’s Spokane Speed and Custom Car Show! Paul purchased his Mk4 Roadster (chassis #9847) in June 2020, and built the car with his son after attending the Factory Five Build School at Mott Community College. They built the Mk4 with a 5.0 Coyote from a 2013 F150, Trememc 2650, IRS, 17″ Halibrand wheels, vinyl dash with glovebox, leather seats, and vintage gauges. Mk4 Customers Chris and Wendy D. Visit Factory Five

It was a pleasure to host Mk4 Chris and Wendy D. from Navarre. FL at Factory Five this week! Chris built a Mk4 Roadster the other year, and was also featured in Coastal Lifestyle Magazine. Westley B. Graduates his Type 65 Coupe Build!

Congratulations to Factory Five customer Westley B. from Virginia on graduating his Gen 3 Type 65 Coupe build! Westley received his Coupe kit in late Summer 2024, and said it was a fun journey. Westley installed a Scott Shafiroff 427ci small block Ford in his Type 65 Coupe along with options like hydraulic clutch, IRS, power steering, GPS vintage gauges, low back race vintage race seats, powder coated frame, Wilwood brakes, wipers, A/C-heater, side windows, front and rear sway bars, floormats, seat track, and polished side view mirror.
