Customers take the lead at Factory Five!

Last week was a big week on the customer front with several show wins, and one of the fastest drag race times ever. There were a few pickups from Connecticut, and even Mike Everson’s got a new shop dog. Check it out!

Paul Borror managed to score another first-place award in the 1400.0 Handbuilt Sports class. That’s twice for his Coupe. He says, “The first time was three years ago just after it was finished and not driven or legal. Fun to show it again as a driver, although pretty sure it’s Autorama days are over. But it was a good run.” Check out his recap and observations from the experience here https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?45404-Detroit-Autorama-2023-Gen-3-Coupe-59.

Sick Week was even sicker with Chris Hein’s Factory Five ’33 Hot Rod. Chris ran a drag time of 8.94 seconds at 156.46 mph down in Florida during the Sick Week races. Chris even did some interviews for Sick the Mag and 1320 Video, as well as Engine Builder Magazine.

Mark said they had, “perfect weather so we took our Mk3.” After speaking with Dave Smith at SEMA about letting it sit for too long, Mark got his Mk3 Roadster back on the road. It seems like Mark and his car are enjoying the road time together!

Kenneth Reilly went home with his new 289 Roadster kit.

Mark Dill picked up his Mk4 Roadster kit as well over the weekend. Both pickups were from Connecticut!

Mike Everson brought in his new “shop dog in training”, Mac. Mac was well-received by the team working hard to fulfill customer orders, and make more of these incredible customer stories happen!

Safe to say Factory Five has had a busy week, and so have Factory Five customers! Congratulations to Paul B., Jason H., Kenneth R., Mark D., Chris H., Mike E. and to any other Factory Five customers with good news this week.

Mark S. Graduates His Mk4 & Scores Magazine Cover!

Congratulations to customer Mark S. on graduating his Mk4 Roadster build! Mark came for a tour of Factory Five in March 2020 to meet Dave Smith and the team. Mark also had the chassis galvanised to…

Factory Five is Closed Today, Monday January 26, 2026.

Unfortunately our plow crew was late, and the day dawned with 3-4′ drifts in the back parking lot! We will be at work and at full strength tomorrow. Sorry for any difficulties this may cause. Three Generations Embark on a Type 65 Coupe Dream Build

Dave Ryan’s Type 65 Coupe build is moving right along—and it’s become something even bigger along the way. In collaboration with Factory Five Racing, V6 Media is producing a short film documenting the build process. Recently, Dave’s father, Vaun Ryan, sat down to share his lifelong passion for performance cars and motorcycles—sparked as a young boy on the family farm in Utah, building a homemade go-kart powered by a hay-elevator motor. That curiosity for how things work turned into a lifetime of mechanical enthusiasm, passed down through generations and now culminating in Dave’s Type 65 Coupe build, which is a…
