June Issue of Hemmings Muscle Machine Showcases Multi-Purpose FFR
Factory Five customer Tim Mauldin is featured in this month’s Hemmings Muscle Machines Magazine with his multi-purpose Mk3 Roadster. Tim decided to purchase a Factory Five in 2006, after driving a ’71 Ford Torino, and ’86 Camaro, and a 1990 Chevy S-10 pickup.
After a 14 year-hiatus from the track, Tim found a Factory Five Roadster for sale, and after a quick phone call to wife and a couple of weeks time, Tim purchased the car. After some serious modifications, he began racing the car in drag race and road course events, ultimately winning 1st Place at the 2008 Run-N-Gun Competition, which measures both drag racing (Tim ran an 11.9 in the 1/4 mile) and road course.
Tim continues to race his Roadster and you can read the complete article in the June 2011 issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines.
If you need another reason to score the June issue, it also has a fantastic “Hot Rod Hero” profile on the legendary Phil Remington. I was fortunate to meet Phil at Dan Gurney’s All-American Racers back in 2000 and the guy is everything you’ve read about him and more. I also feel he has not been given the due press that many of the other vintage era guys have gotten.
