Nichols Paint & Fab Graduated Their ’35 Truck Build!

Justin and the team at Nichols Paint & Fab in Watseka, IL recently graduated this Factory Five ’35 Hot Rod Truck build which they have named Slime Truck 2.0.

They installed a LS3 engine with a Brian Tooley Racing (BTR) camshaft, 8.8 Ford rear end, and a GM Performance 4L70 transmission. The gauges are custom designed by Nichols Paint and Fab with Dakota Digital. Also included are bomber seats, QTP exhaust cutouts, QA1 Shocks, and Billet Specialties Rims. Their 3D technician, Dan, designed and 3D printed custom scoops and a battery box cover for the bed.

Nichols’ truck has been featured at several shows including the 2023 Daryl Starbird’s National Rod & Custom Car Show, the Pigeon Forge Rod Run 2023, which was featured in ScottieDTV’s Dirty Dozen YouTube video, and the 54th NSRA Street Rod Nationals Louisville, KY. The crew plan on racing autocross and road course events with the Slime Truck 2.0 as well.

Peter D. Graduates Mk5 Build for Son Scott’s Wedding

Factory Five customer Peter D. from Pfafftown, NC and his son Scott started to put thier Mk5 Roadster plans together early in Fall 2025. The submitted their order in mid-October 2025 with the kit arriving in mid-December. Rob M. Reaches First Start Milestone!
